![]() |
From the main Cortex screen you will see the tree view where the list will be displayed, and various menu options. |
The file menu give access to file functions for loading, creating and saving brain files.
Select this item to create a new brain file. Enter a name for the new brain. This name will be used as the filename (*.cor), and will appear as text in the root neuron of the brain.
Select this item to save the brain contents to file. It is the user's responsibility to periodically save as changes are made. Note the default save path is to the "My Documents" folder.
Select this item if you want to save the current brain with a different filename. Note you are limited to saving to the "My Documents" folder, or sub folders within that folder.
Select this item to load a brain file. The state of the brain will be the same as at the time it was saved. Neurons should appear checked and expanded just as they were when the file was saved.
The edit menu provides neuron editing and sorting functions.
Sort Selected
Neuron
Select this item to sort a selected neuron. The neurons
contained under the selected neuron will be sorted. Sorts can be ascending
or descending, alphabetic or by checked neurons.
Sort Brain
Select this item to sort the entire brain. All neurons
will be sorted according to the sort type selected. Sorts can be ascending or
descending, alphabetic or by checked neurons.
Add Neuron

When a new node is added, edit mode will automatically be invoked for that node
so text can be entered.
Add Neuron Below
